Great quality - don’t hesitate to purchase

I did much research prior to purchasing a traverse curtain rod for my 12 foot patio doors. Some of the prices I saw online were astronomical and websites often didn’t provide detailed information about the rod, carrier, etc. Then, I found Curtain Rod Connection. Their prices were a fraction of the cost I’d seen elsewhere. I was initially apprehensive about purchasing as I had a few questions. So, I gave them a call. I was greeted by a friendly gentleman who happily and knowledgeably answered my questions and also made recommendations. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to give them a call or send an email.

I went back and forth on whether I should go with the Tekno 25 or Tekno 40. Ultimately, I felt the diameter of the Tekno 25 (1 1/8”) was more appropriate for my space than the Tekno 40 diameter (1 1/2”). I made the right decision as the Tekno 25 was just right for my space without feeling too thin (10 foot ceilings). I fear the Tekno 40 would have been bulky, which is not what I wanted for my more modern/minimal space.

I purchased a 180” (two sections) Tekno 25 decorative curtain rod in black cut to 162 inches. I ordered the oval finials. I requested tech wheeled carriers vs. swivel slides in the order comment box because I needed the larger carrier hole for my drapery hooks and I wanted something with wheels for easier sliding of heavy drapes. I had initially planned to use the popular plastic ratcheting hooks that can adjust by 2 inches, but found I liked the metal hooks better. FYI, the tech wheeled carriers will indeed accommodate the larger plastic ratcheting hooks if you want to use them.

My four 100% blackout curtain panels weigh a total of 34 lbs. I installed all 5 wall brackets into studs at 3 inches below the ceiling. I have not had any issues with wobbling or bending; the rod is very sturdy.

Of note, installation was a breeze. You install the hardware plate with bolt sticking out on the wall first. Once it’s time to put the rod on, you slide the “wall bracket poles” onto the back of the curtain rod. There is a back channel along the entire length of the rod (this is separate from the actual curtain track), so the “wall bracket poles” can move freely. This allows you to slide them to where they need to be to line up with the wall hardware/bolt, then you just slide it on over the bolt and twist the pole to tighten. Tighten the set screw and you’re done!

I highly recommend purchasing a curtain rod from Curtain Rod Connection. The product and customer service are excellent. In fact, I just purchased two more for my bedroom.

Sturdy and Good Looking

This rod is designed and constructed well, and really good looking. Even with just drywall anchors it's very sturdy and strong. It's easy to install once you have the wall measured and marked, and there is enough play in the brackets to adapt to minor mistakes in drilling. The instructions are good, but they did not describe the end clips that were in a little bag. Baby Yoda explained how to install them.

For other reviewers that had a gap in the splice: Over the 144" length and five posts, the second one landed in a 1/4" deep wave in the wall that was not evident to the naked eye. Pushing the rod all the way to the wall on that post bowed the rod enough to cause a gap in the splice. We added a black nylon spacer to that post to make it longer and that fixed it.

On the downside, the packaging was littered with aluminum shavings from the cut rods. What a mess. Be careful where you unpack it!

And on a final note, I think the carriers are a little too short. The fabric bunches up against the rod with the hooks in the carriers. On a 136" panel that's a lot of friction that makes gliding with just the baton difficult. I have to pull on a few ripples to move the whole panel.
